The Toyota Highlander: Space for Everyone

If you’re in the Washington D.C. or Richmond area, then you’re probably used to driving back and forth across Maryland and Virginia. On the east coast, there’s constantly an event to get to or a place to be. With all the traveling that you do, it’s important to have a reliable vehicle that has plenty of room for your family and friends. Our suggestion? The Toyota Highlander.

With three rows, you’re able to carry even more friends and family to those events you so frequently attend. As far as road trips are concerned, you’ll be excited to learn that the Highlander is not only spacious, but provides a vast amount of safety and technology features. For a midsize SUV, you can’t go wrong with the Toyota Highlander.

What’s New in the 2019 Toyota Highlander?

Minor exterior styling updates on a few trims levels are basically it for the 2019 Highlander changes – but Toyota’s feature-packed, spacious, comfortable midsize crossover remains one of the best options in this admittedly crowded automotive segment.

The 2019 Highlander continues to be available in six well-equipped trim levels – LE, LE Plus, XLE, SE, Limited, and Limited Platinum – and among them you can get exactly the right combination of features and amenities for you, without having to shell out extra for things that don’t make your list of must-haves. The interior can comfortably accommodate up to eight occupants, and the entertainment options are plentiful to ensure all of those passengers stay happily occupied no matter how long the drive. And speaking of the drive, the Highlander makes sure it’s quiet and smooth every time.

Safety is covered via Toyota’s amazing Safety Sense P package, where smart protective systems will keep everyone inside the Highlander secure and give the driver a much-appreciated boost of confidence behind the wheel.

Ready to learn more or find the 2019 Highlander that’s perfect for your needs and desires? Turn to Toyota of Southern Maryland and let us help you get an amazing price on the vehicle of your dreams.

Toyota Highlander: A Brief History

The first generation of the Toyota Highlander was introduced in 2001 and offered with two engine choices. Redesigned for 2008, the second generation Highlander added a more powerful engine choice, as well as extra space with the addition of a larger third row seat.

The third generation Toyota Highlander was unveiled in 2013 at the New York International Auto Show, showcasing a longer and wider body style than before. A few years later, in 2016, the Highlander received a revised V6 engine, new fascia, restyled headlights and taillights, as well as new trim options. New interior and exterior color options are also available.
