2022 Toyota Corolla Cross vs 2021 Toyota RAV4

Serving Lexington Park, MD

The Toyota Corolla has been a popular option among car shoppers for several decades, and its appeal has recently been magnified with the introduction of the Corolla Cross. The 2022 Corolla Cross is a compact crossover SUV designed off of the Corolla, and it notably has all-wheel drive functionality. It sits directly below the RAV4 in the lineup, so comparing these two models is a natural next step in your search for a new crossover SUV.

Performance

The 2022 Corolla Cross is available with one powertrain, and this is a 2.0-liter I-4 engine. It produces 169 horsepower and is offered in conjunction with a continuously variable transmission. The 2021 Toyota RAV4, on the other hand, has a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine that produces 203 horsepower. It is paired with an eight-speed auto transmission. A 219-net-horsepower hybrid engine is also offered for the RAV4, and it comes with a continuously variable transmission.

Appearance

The Corolla Cross has extensive appeal and shares some design traits with the RAV4. However, it is easy to identify these two models on the road thanks to their individualized features. Both vehicles boast a relatively flat hood with long lines through the hood and roof. They also both have a downturned grille with rigorous definition through the nose. However, the Corolla Cross has smoother sides, and the stretched, angled headlights are topped by an LED light bar. The RAV4, on the other hand, has edgier headlights, and the lights are mounted over deep air vents for added differentiation.

Features

These are both two-row crossover SUVs that are packed with an extensive array of technologies and features. They both have a digital display screen mounted at the top of the center stack, and this screen delivers access to the infotainment system’s features. The Corolla Cross and the RAV4 also have a digital instrumentation screen, assistive driver’s aids, a sound system, an auto climate management system, and other superior features.
