The Toyota Tundra is a full-size truck that has pulled its weight in the line for several decades. For 2021, this second-generation truck displays several impressive updates for you to check out. Specifically, the Nightshade Special Edition and the Trail Edition are new options. These are packages that are available on select trim levels. The six trim levels are unchanged for the 2021 model year, and they are the SR, the SR5, the Limited, the Platinum, the 1794 Edition, and the TRD Pro. Regardless of the trim level and packages you select, your Tundra will draw 331 horsepower from a 5.7-liter V8 gas engine. This mighty powertrain is linked to a six-speed auto transmission. It is tied to a rear-wheel drivetrain, and all-wheel drive is an option.
The Nightshade Special Edition is offered as an option on the Limited trim level. It adds features like black 20-inch wheels, darkened exterior accents, black leather seats on the interior, and a moonroof. These features are in conjunction with the Limited’s many features. These include a power-sliding rear window, heated front seats, a larger fuel tank, a dual-zone auto climate control system, LED lighting, and more.
The Trail Edition is offered on the SR5 trim level for the 2021 model year. Its unique features are black cloth seats with tan accent stitching, a spray-in bed liner, an upgraded grille, all-terrain tires, and upgraded 18-inch wheels. It is offered in combination with all of the SR5’s features. These include fog lamps, an 8-inch touch display screen, adaptive cruise control, auto high beams, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, forward collision mitigation, a lane departure sensor, and more.

1. Payload Capacity is the calculation of GVWR minus curb weight and should be used for comparison purposes only. The maximum amount of passenger and cargo weight your vehicle can carry is the Load Carrying Capacity indicated on the label(s) on the driver's doorjamb.
2. Before towing, confirm your vehicle and trailer are compatible, hooked up and loaded properly and that you have any necessary additional equipment. Do not exceed any Weight Ratings and follow all instructions in your Owner’s Manual. The maximum you can tow depends on base curb weight plus the total weight of any cargo, occupants, and added vehicle equipment. “Added vehicle equipment” includes additional standard/optional equipment and accessories added by the manufacturer, dealers, and/or vehicle owners. The only way to be certain of your vehicle’s exact curb weight is to weigh your vehicle without passengers or cargo. [Calculated with the new SAE J2807 method.] Installation of a tow hitch receiver or other accessories located near the rear bumper or side-door kick sensors may require disabling or removing the kick sensor, and the sensor operation setting in your vehicle should be turned off. See Owner’s Manual for limitations.
