Toyota just introduced a new Corolla, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t improve and refine it for 2016. You can see all the new features at Toyota of Southern Maryland in Lexington Park, and even take it for a test drive. We serve the Prince Frederick and Mechanicville, MD areas, as well as the rest of the southern half of the state.
Honda has a new Civic for 2016, but all the changes they have made are not necessarily for the better.
The Corolla and the Civic have been head to head competitors for years, but the Corolla usually has a lower starting price and more features. The base model of both comes standard with a 4 cylinder motor, and a 6 speed manual transmission. The Corolla base model undercuts Civic by more than $1500. Opt for the automatic and both come with an advanced continuously variable transmission, but the Corolla is still close to $1000 less.
Both Toyota and Honda offer a sporty version of these compact sedans, the Corolla SE and the Civic SI. But only Toyota offers you the option of a sporty model with an automatic and paddle shifters, with the special sport mode CVT in the Corolla SE. Not only is the Civic SI much more expensive, it is only available with a stick shift transmission..
Both of these cars were recently redesigned, but Toyota put an emphasis on rear seat room and comfort with their new chassis. The new Honda Civic is slightly longer and wider, but it still can’t beat the room Toyota offers. The rear seat of the Corolla has more than 4” greater legroom than the Civic. All together the Corolla has several cubic feet more interior space than the Civic, in the same basic size car.
If you are in the market for a compact sedan, the 2016 Toyota Corolla has one of the roomiest interiors in its class. Take one for a test drive today at Toyota of Southern Maryland in Lexington Park, MD, serving Price Frederick and Mechanicsville, MD.View Inventory
